BASIC QUESTIONS:

  • Can I apply for my provisional licence before my 17th birthday?
    Yes you can, the earliest age you can apply is 15yrs and 9 months.
  • Can I start my lessons before I get my provisional licence?
    No, you cannot drive on a public road until you have received your licence.
  • Do I need to pass my theory test before I start driving lessons?
    No you do not.

DRIVING QUESTIONS:

  • Will you conduct my driving test?
    No, your driving test will be conducted by a DVSA examiner at a your local DVSA test centre.
  • Isn't Insurance expensive for young drivers?
    Some Insurance Companies specialise for younger drivers, click on our link to Marmalade.
  • Can I drive on the motorway as a learner?
    Yes, you can drive on a motorway as a learner. BUT it must be in a dual controlled car and you must accompanied by an ADI (approved driving instructor).

TOWING QUESTIONS:

  • Do you need to take a theory test for a trailer (B+E) test?
    No, not if you already hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
  • What if I have an automatic car licence?
    If you take your B+E (trailer) test in an automatic car, you will only be able to use an automatic car when towing. However, if you take your B+E test in a manual car, your automatic car entitlement will be amended to manual as well, allowing you to drive both.
